Brian Erikson et Lou Roppoli ont formé House of Not en 2002 avec l’intention de créer un opera-rock ‘The walkabout of A. Nexter niode’.
En 2000, pendant qu’il est dans l’Himalaya, Brian Erikson a commencé à conceptualiser l’histoire puis, dès son retour dans sa ferme de l’Ontario, il va passer un an à la compléter musicalement.
Après avoir créé l’intégralité des démos, il contacte Lou Roppoli pour qu’il s’occupe des parties de guitare. Commence alors l’enregistrement de ‘Part. I : Off the path’ ; pendant ces sessions, ils sont rejoints par Ken O’Gorman qui ajoute les parties additionnelles de guitares, basse et mandoline.
« The walkabout of A. Nexter niode » nous raconte la vie du rocker Nexter à travers cinq chapitres représentés par cinq albums qui sont thématiquement indépendants :
Part I : Off the Path (sorti en 2004)
Part II : Nexus (Sorti en avril 2005)
Part III : On the madness of crowds
Part IV : Piper at the precipice
Part V : Legends, Potentates and lesser men
