GORDON MIDGLEY ex Napier's Bones vient de sortir son nouvel album intitulé "Subjects" inspiré des écrits du philosophe médiéval Maître Eckhart. L'album prend la forme d'un parcours spirituel basé sur une musique psychédélique, expérimentale et profonde. "Subjects" disponible sur le Bandcamp du compositeur. Pour l'occasion il est accompagné par Joan Silentio qui pose sa jolie voix sur cet album et y apporte toute sa sensibilité.
Gordon explique :
"Twelve eventful months have passed since the release of 'Lifetimes Ago'
and on several occasions I've found myself traversing the 'timeline' to
construct a musical travelogue between 'there' and 'here'.
Reflective convergence. Sometimes.
I first encountered the writings of medieval mystic Meister Johannes
Eckhart in the early 2000s, finding them interesting in their historical
context. Returning to Eckhart last winter I experienced a different
kind of acknowledgement and resonance.
I'd discussed his writings with Joan on previous occasions and wondered if she'd be keen to join the nascent project.
You can imagine how delighted I was when she said yes with characteristic enthusiasm.
We bounced ideas around for inspirational excerpts and before too long we had a well-defined concept for an album.
A musical world was forming.
Related musical and lyrical motifs are presented in different contexts at various stages of the journey.
We often discover the answer was in front of us all along but we were
only able to recognise it after a lengthy journey of experience.
